These are the screens for the first time user experience of Listastic, an iPhone app.
The good bits
This app does a good job of providing free samples. Although it has a set of intro screens, there are two options persistent throughout: an option to “Try offline” and another to “Sign Up/In”. Tapping on “Try offline” allows users to create and edit lists; they only thing they cannot do is sync with other devices or invite other users to collaborate.
Inside the app, there is a clear “Account” button in the lower left that, when tapped, will open a prompt for users to enter their email address to sign in or sign up.
To be improved
I cannot see a good reason why the app didn’t just jump right into offline mode, skipping the intro tour all together. The first screen is just a splash screen. Screens 2 and 3 (the anatomy diagrams) have very tightly wrapped text which is difficult to read. The last screen is just an extremely simplistic feature list. And in offline mode, the “Account” option is just as prominent as it is in the product tour.
