AirBnB Android app first time user experience
The above screens show the start experience for the AirBnB Android app. Many of the good bits/to be improved parts are similar to those I shared from the iOS app, but I also wanted to show the first run flow for someone who is interested in listing a property.
The app does not require a user to create an account to start listing a property. The listing process is set up as a wizard, asking a few key questions before prompting for an account. The wizard is clearly labelled (although it could stand to have an indicator of number of steps involved).
This approach allows an interested property owner to judge what kinds of information will be needed to get started, and also invests him more deeply so he will be more likely to follow through and create an account.
