Guidebook first time user experience
It starts with a 3-screen walkthrough. It is difficult to read because the text is overlaid on photographic images and the font isn’t strong enough to content with them.
Once past the walkthrough, there is a blank slate message that points the user to the “Download Guides” call to action. This app assumes that the user downloaded it to look for a specific event guide, so it relies on the each event’s promotional materials to steer users in the right direction. Therefore it might be better to skip the walkthrhough pages all together since the user may already have been educated beforehand.
After downloading a guide (in this case, the guide for PAX Prime 2013), there is a brief overlay instruction on how to search, and then you’re ready to go.
